There are multiple requirements that you have to have to be a WWE superstar. Mic skills are one of the biggest parts…
#5 CM Punk

CM Punk was great on the mic as a heel and babyface. He could connect with the crowd like almost nobody could, or could insult the crowd too. His prime of mic speaking took place when he was WWW Champion for a while, he played the role of a straight edge superstar who insulted fans for not being him.
#4 Stone Cold Steve Austin

Stunning Steve Austin was a great in ring performer but not a great talker. That all changed at King of the Ring 1996 when Steve won and put on great promo after great promo. He was on Smackdown and Raw TEARING THE HOUSE DOWN, saying catch phrases, and insulting opponents.
#3 Hulk Hogan

The Hulkster could get people really excited as a talker. With promos before a match and roasting a wrestler in an argument the Hulkster could get it all done. You could feel the energy of Hogan when he spoke as a hated heel or loved Babyface. His promos were simple and effective, saying catchy catch phrases.
#2 The Rock

#1 John Cena

Here we have it, the number one mic speaker in WWE history, John Cena! Nobody could touch John on the microphone not even The Rock (Cena destroyed Rocky when he pointed out promo lines written on his wrist). Cena is ruthless on the microphone both as a babyface AND as a heel in 2025. Although he could not insult a wrestler as much as the Rock could, Cena could connect with the crowd better.
