Summerslam 2026 Night 1: Every Match Ranked And Reviewed

Summerslam 2026 night 1 was truly a historic event with a ton of great matches and one that was not so good. Today, I will be ranking the matches in order from worst to best across the 6 match card. Let the countdown begin!

#6 Fatal Influence vs The Bella’s And Paige

Rating from the bros, 4.5/10

This match really didn’t have much potential, and it kind of was worse than expected. The crowd was dead silent, and there really wasn’t much storytelling involved either. At least they didn’t botch any moves! Fatal Influence picked up the win in a truly underwhelming match that left fans bored to sleep. Oh, and the ending was horrible. Jacy Jane won the match for her team by a punch. Yeah, not much went on here.

#5 Solo Sikoa, Royce Keys, and LA Knight vs The Bloodline

Rating from the bros 7/10

This match was better than expected with the pace being nothing short of special. Solo Sikoa’s new Babyface side was done very well by YEETING with the crowd. Very rare Solo chants erupted through the building. LA Knight eventually won the match with a brutal BFT to Jey Uso.

#4 Cody Rhodes Vs. CM Punk — Undisputed WWE Championship

7/10

I expected a lot more from this match (specifically I expected 8.5/10 or beyond). But, it was definitely not bad, in fact this technical battle was average. Punk vs. Rhodes started off slow with Cody targeting Punk’s knee and Punk targeting Rhodes’ shoulder/arm. Then after around the second half of the match it seriously picked up. Punk missed an elbow drop through an announce table. Then, something unexpected and amazing happened. Randy Orton returned to attack Cody Rhodes! Randy then hit an RKO to Cody, Punk capitalized by nailing his bread and butter and the champ retained (CM Punk).

#3 Iyo Sky vs Liv Morgan — Women’s World Championship

Rating From The Bros, 7.75/10

We all know Iyo Sky can put on great match after great match. But can Liv Morgan do that? I mean come on. She hasn’t defended her title in 100 freakin days, that’s enough to recover from an injury. However, the opener to Summerslam was really good. It had a nice pace, the crowd was loud and all for Iyo, but this match could have been an 8/10 if it wasn’t for Liv Morgan winning. Her terrible reign as the self acclaimed greatest world champion of all time continues.

#2 Brock Lesnar vs Oba Femi — Hell In A Cell

8/10

Hell In a Cell is not to be understated. The second best match of the night was the main event contested inside Hell in a Cell, completing the trilogy between these two titans. The pace was fast from the get go with Oba charging Brock. Later the fight was taken out to the confines of the steel where Brock got violently pushed through a table and then into the ring steps. Eventually both men went back into the ring where Brock Lesner toured through the ring into the bare wood (shades of Brock’s HIAC match between the Undertaker) then Tombstone Piledrived Femi into the boards. It was a 2 count. After that Oba hit a Fall From Grace to score the victory in an incredible passing of the torch moment. The only downside was the Cell was only used twice in the match.

#1 Gunther vs Nick Aldis

Rating From The Bros, 8.25/10

Nick Aldis returned to a WWE ring with a banger against non other than the ring general. The story of the match was Nick Aldis trying to gain momentum as a new Babyface while Gunther did everything he could to stop that. Nick Aldis did really great in his move execution and bringing in his new submission finisher. Gunther aggressive as ever, locked in the sleeper. Aldis tried to escape. Couldn’t. So Nick tapped to the man who disrespected and brutalized him on Smackdown.
