Best Hell In A Cell Matches In WWE History

The HIAC match started in 1997 and is still used today. It is my favorite match stipulation. Here are it's greatest matches.

#6 Triple H vs. Batista Vengance 2005

Rating from the bros 9/10

Triple H had never lost a HIAC match in his career until this match. This was 100% Batistas best match. They used steel steps, a steel chair rapped with barbed wire, and a chain. The animal eventually beat the game with a powerbomb on the steel steps.

#5 CM Punk vs Drew Mclyntire Bad Blood 2024

Rating from the bros 9.5/10

This match was the bloodiest HIAC match in the modern era of WWE. The previous 2 matches of these men were OK, but this match took the HIAC match to a different level. They were both BLOODY, they used steel steps, and tables! Drew almost broke his back when he missed a claymore on the steel steps. Punk won due to the GTS on with a chain wrapped around his knee.

#4 Cactus Jack vs. Triple H No Way Out 2000

Everyone was expecting a classic. That is exactly what happened. This match was almost as good as their Royal Rumble match. They used FLAMING BARBED WIRE. Cactus even fell through the cell!

#3 Undertaker vs. Mankind King Of The Ring 1998

This match was a CATASTROPHE MATCH. Mankind fell off the cell TWICE, and he brought in thumbtacks. The Undertaker did a dive to the outside but missed. There were some iconic moments like when Mankind left the stretcher to go to the top of the cell again and when he was SMILING!

#2 The Undertaker vs Triple H Wrestlemania 28

Triple h used steel chairs like they were the most painful weapon in wrestling. He also used a sledgehammer and steel steps. The near falls were incredible. I thought it was it when Undertaker hit his First tombstone, but HHH kicked out! Shawn hit sweet chin music and while Taker was falling, HHH did a pedigree for THE greatest near fall in WWE history. The reason I only put this at third and not higher was because they didn’t use the cell very much, but they did have great storytelling.

#1 The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels In Your House Bad Blood 1997

The first HIAC match was definitely the best. Shawn sold perfectly, while the Undertaker just beat him down. When Shawn got slammed or whipped into the buckle, it looked like it hurt ten times worse. Shawn was bleeding BADLY. He also got stepped on and fell off the cell. Kane had THE greatest debut in the history of wrestling when he tombstoned the Undertaker. This was the greatest HELL IN A CELL MATCH EVER!
